You can now onboard new personnel to AOK faster using QR codes either to join your command or to your specific team (this will add them to the command, if they are not already included*).
You must be an Org Leader, Org Admin, or Team Leader to access QR Code onboarding.

Why This Matters
New check-ins often get overlooked in onboarding unless there's a clear, consistent process. Some commands rely on checklists or department heads, but that doesn’t always result in timely AOK onboarding.
This playbook shows you how to:
Generate QR codes for onboarding
Add new members to your command and team in real time
Organize onboarding at All-Hands meetings, department events, or posted for team gatherings
Build better communication channels using smaller, purpose-built teams
Step-by-Step: How to Onboard New Check-Ins Using a Command Invite QR Code
Example Scenario: Inviting New Check-ins to the Command
You’re managing onboarding for new check-ins.
You:
Print a Command Invite QR Code and post it at a secured room's entrance
When new check-ins scan it, they’re prompted to create an AOK account and automatically join your command
This ensures everyone starts in the right place before being added to specific teams later
Now the new check-ins are part of your command.
To Invite to the Command:
Tap on the three lines in top left corner to open your navigation menu and click on Connect.
*If you don't see the connect option, reach out to support@adytonpbc.com
Then select Code. To generate a QR code to join your command, tap Generate QR Code.
You can also navigate to the Connect page from the People's page by clicking the + button and tapping on Invite members via QR code.
Next, input the maximum number of invitees who can use the QR code and acknowledge the Security Notice.
Note, the max number of invitees per QR code is up to 9,999 users.
The QR code is valid for 24 hours and can be revoked any time prior to meeting the 24 hour countdown.
Once your QR Code is made, click on Share.
Here you will be able to upload the QR Code to a google drive, quick share, send via messenger or text message, send it in an email or print it out.
❗️Security Reminder: Post QR Codes in Secure Locations Only❗️
QR codes generated for team invites automatically add users to your organization. Only share these codes in secure, controlled environments.
✅ Use them in briefings, private events, or secure intranet sites
🚫 Avoid public forums, open websites, public events, or public social channels
Treat each QR code like a digital key — protect it accordingly.
Step-by-Step: How to Invite Members to a Team using a Team Invite QR Code
Example Scenario: Chaplain Hosting a Resiliency Retreat
You’re a chaplain organizing a weekend Resiliency & Reflection Retreat for new service members in your command. You want to make sure participants have access to resources, schedules, and can stay connected before, during, and after the event.
You:
Generate a QR Team invite code to your “Chaplain’s Care & Resiliency” team
Print the QR code and display it at the check-in table or on a digital monitor
As participants arrive, they scan the code to join your team
Once they join:
You're able to send them a welcome message, retreat schedule, or any prompts
You can send group updates in real time like: “Session starts in 10 mins in the main tent!”
After the retreat, you can continue to share ongoing spiritual care resources and support check-ins directly through the team
Why it works:
This helps build community and trust among members and ensures no one misses important information, while giving you a private space to support their ongoing personal and spiritual growth.
To Invite to a Team:
Tap on the three lines in top left corner to open your navigation menu and click on Teams.
Locate the team you want to make a QR Code and tap on the three dots next to the team name. Select Manage team.
Tap on the QR Code icon next to Manage.
You'll be redirected to the Connect: Code page where you can tap on Generate QR Code to create a QR invite code for your team.
Only Org Admins/Leaders and Team Leaders are authorized to generate a QR code for their team.
Refer to above for continuing steps.
