How Mustr Ensures Message Delivery

Mustr is built for every environment, including those with unreliable connectivity such as military bases with poor cell signal and limited WiFi. To increase delivery success, Mustr messages are sent through multiple channels:

  • SMS (Text Message)

  • App Push Notification

  • and Email (when enabled)

Automatic & Manual Follow-Ups

If your message doesn’t reach everyone on the first attempt, Mustr provides options to retry delivery:

Remind All

Use the Remind All button to resend the message to anyone still in non-delivered status buckets.

In some cases App users will receive a text message when sent a reminder.

Ensure Delivery (Beta Feature)

Ensure Delivery is an automatic follow-up that re-attempts delivery 10 minutes after the original message is sent — targeting only those who didn’t receive it.

⚠️ Ensure Delivery is not enabled for all organizations. Contact us if you’d like it enabled for your Mustr account.

Understanding Delivery Buckets

After sending a Mustr, the response screen will show two main sections:

ANSWERED

  • Answered: The message was opened and responded to or acknowledged.

  • Seen: The message was opened but not yet acknowledged or answered.

AWAITING

  • Delivered

  • Delivery Errors: The message failed to send. Click into this bucket to see user specific error messages such as:

    • SMS (text) Opt-Out

    • Number Out of Service

    • Unreachable Destination Handset

    • Notifications Disabled

  • Awaiting Cell Signal: The message hasn’t yet reached the user’s device. They may be out of range or offline.

Having users enable their Notifications settings is KEY to receiving Mustr notifications. Here are the steps: Adjusting Notifications

SMS Opt out users who have typed "STOP" in the text messages can re-enable them by texting "START" to 833-949-3191.

How to Review Mustr Responses

To review responses for your Mustr (Broadcast, Status Check, or RFI):

Open the Messages log.

Click into the relevant RFI, Broadcast, or Status Check message.

View the breakdown of:

  • Answered (users who responded or saw the message)

  • Awaiting (users who haven't responded or saw the message, including those with delivery issues)

Only Org Leaders can view all Mustr results across the org. Team Leaders can only see Mustrs sent to their team.

Bulk Actions for Response Management

You can perform bulk actions on users in any response bucket, whether they’ve answered, seen the message, had a delivery error, or are still awaiting delivery.

Answer on Behalf

Submit a response for selected users. This is useful if they communicated their answer via phone, email, or in-person (e.g., lost phone or weak cell signal).

Add to Team / Create New Team

Group selected users based on shared responses or statuses. This is great for follow-up targeting.

  • Example: If 12 users gave the same response, quickly group them into a new team to send a tailored message.

Tip: Enable Notifications

App users with notifications disabled may miss messages. Encourage your team to follow this guide to enable them:
