Updated over 2 weeks ago

Updated: September 2025

This guide shows you how to manage individual items in your Log-E catalog by adding notes, tags, and photos to specific serial numbers. These tools help improve tracking, documentation, and accountability for your equipment.

What You Can Do

With Log-E’s item management features, you can:

  • Add photos to end items or entire catalog items

  • Write notes (e.g., missing cables, damage, usage instructions)

    • Write these on the LIN/NSN level OR individual end items

  • Apply tags to quickly label items by condition, issue, or category

  • Add items to a subhand receipt for transfers or tracking

Step-by-Step Instructions

Open Your Catalog

Navigate to the Log-E Equipment tab using the navigation menu in the top left corner.

Open your unit’s Catalog by tapping on the three vertical dots next to your unit's name (e.g., Bravo Company).

Select a Line Item Number (e.g., 70210N).

Click on a specific End Item to open the item details.

Add a Photo

At the top half of the item page:

Tap the Plus icon to upload from your photo library.

Tap the Camera icon to take a new photo with your device.

Once added, the image will begin uploading automatically.

Set Photo Preferences

After the photo uploads:

Tap the Like icon to make it the default image for the entire catalog item. Tap again to remove that designation.

To delete the photo, tap the Trash icon.

Add a Note

Tap the Notes tab in the top right corner.

Tap the Pencil icon with three vertical lines in the bottom left corner.

Enter your note (e.g., Missing HDMI cable). Then tap Save.

The note is now linked to the serial number.

Add a Tag

Tap the Tag icon.

Select the tag type that fits what you're looking for.

The tag will be saved and displayed in the item summary.

Add to a Subhand Receipt (Optional)

Tap the Clipboard with a plus icon to include this item in a subhand receipt for personnel tracking or equipment handoffs.

You can create a new subhand receipt or add the item to an existing sub hand receipt. Then tap Assign.

Best Practices

  • Keep tags consistent across similar issues or statuses.

  • Use photos to visually document damage, modifications, or condition.

  • Adding images to the LIN/NSN level allows all users across the Enterprise to have a reference photo

  • Always double-check that notes are attached to the correct end item.
