Sending Mustr Messages in AOK

Use this article to learn how you can communicate with members of your organization using Broadcasts, Status Checks and RFIs.

Updated over a week ago

Mustr allows you to send three main types of secure Mustrs or messages to your entire organization or targeted to specific teams. This article explains what those are and how to use them.

Items discussed:

Broadcast Messages

Broadcast messages are used for relaying information or announcements to members without the need for replies. The recipients of a broadcast message will all see an Acknowledge button along with your message to confirm receipt.

Example: you need to announce a new curfew, change of event location, or any other general updates.

  1. Tap the message icon in the bottom right corner in the Mustr landing page.

  2. Select Broadcast.

  3. Type your message.

  4. Optional: and add an attachment.

  5. Select the relevant team.

  6. Optional: set a customized deadline by which people should respond and receive a notification for who hasn't responded in the desired timeframe.

Status Checks

These messages are the simplest Mustr option. Sending a Status Check allows you to ask you team: “Are you ok?” The only available response is a simple “yes” or “no” answer. This is a messaging option that can be used for daily Roll Call or following an event that requires an organization-wide Recall.

***Note: members can add a comment to their response.***

  1. Tap the Message icon in the bottom right corner in the Mustr log.

  2. Select Status Check.

  3. Select the relevant team.

  4. Optional: set a customized deadline by which people should respond and receive a notification for who hasn't responded in the desired timeframe.

Request for Information (RFI)

An RFI is a way to get information from members within a specific group or your entire organization. You can add multiple questions within the same RFI prompting different types of responses from recipients.

  1. Tap the Message icon in the bottom right corner of the Mustr log landing page.

  2. Choose RFI on the right of the top of the screen

  3. You will be brought to a screen where you can add a question. Type your question and classify the question type:

Types of questions:

Freeform - users can freely type a response without restrictions on how long it is. Use this form when looking to get a very detailed response to a specific question.

Numeric - use this question type when you are expecting recipients to reply with a numerical response (i.e. How many cars are needed?)

Date - use this when you need recipients to respond with a date.

Multiple Choice - this option allows you to setup a series of choices for users to select (i.e. if you need to know what T-Shirt size to give recipients based on L,S or M)

Saving RFI questions for later use

Some RFI questions might be relevant in the future, or you might want to use them as a recurring question. To save a question:

  1. Select the Save answer as Template.

When you are ready to use a question you saved, simply scroll to the question bank section of the RFI creation window.

Reducing notification for RFIs

  • To reduce the notifications received during “Yes / No” questions on RFIs, you can select the answer you want to be notified about.

Once you have created your Request for information question and set the relevant answer, you can tap on “Next” in the top right corner which will bring you back to a page where you can again select the team’s relevant and a deadline for answers.
